I am extremely proud to be Head Teacher of Ynysddu Primary School and wish to extend a warm welcome to our happy, nurturing and vibrant school where together we inspire our children daily with the values of belonging, believing and being your best self.

Ynysddu Primary School is a special place and as a Rights Respecting School the relationships we nurture with our children and their families make our school an excellent environment in which to grow and learn. Children's happiness and wellbeing, along with their successful futures, are rooted at the heart of all that we do.

We expect the very highest standards from all our children and our dedicated, skilled team of staff strive to ensure all children are empowered with the values and skills to allow their imaginations to flourish and to achieve to their greatest potential.

The mission statement was developed for the Federation when Cwmfelinfach and Ynysddu Primary formally federated on 1 September 2019. The two schools share a headteacher, and each school keeps its own identity.

We are committed to developing a safe, secure and happy inclusive environment, developing relationships based on mutual trust and respect, where pupils and staff feel valued and their voices are listened to.

All members of the Federation will work together to encourage pupils and staff to become determined, independent, resilient learners who are willing to take risks, learn from others and play an active role in their own learning.

All members of the Federation will work together to ensure that all pupils and staff are valued as individuals and develop their self-esteem and uniqueness, enabling them to become the best version of themselves, celebrated across the school.

The young people we aim to shape

We want our pupils to develop the capacity for lifelong learning, to have a love of learning, and to make sure that the learning needs of all pupils are fully met. Four principles underpin our work, supported by the twelve pedagogical principles. The curriculum aims to enable all our pupils to be:
