I am extremely proud to be Head Teacher of Ynysddu Primary School and wish to extend a warm welcome to our happy, nurturing and vibrant school, where together we inspire our children daily with the values of belonging, believing and being your best self.

Ynysddu Primary School is a special place, and as a Rights Respecting School the relationships we nurture with our children and their families make our school an excellent environment in which to grow and learn.

Our vision and values have at their heart treating each other as we would want to be treated ourselves, with respect and dignity, making sure that each person is valued. That is why the work of UNICEF and Rights Respecting Schools matters so much to us. Every page of this site carries the article from the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child that it puts into practice.

Our curriculum

Four purposes, four friendly faces

Designed with our School Council, our curriculum mascots help every child grow towards the four purposes of the Curriculum for Wales.

AAmbitious Aneurin

Always up for a challenge, questions the normal way of doing things and looks for exciting new things to learn.

Thinks outside the box, designs products that are unique and presents her work in her own special way.

 EEthical Enfys

A superhero of the modern world with strong ties to Wales, passing on her powers of the Welsh language to others.

Lives an active, balanced life, talks about his problems and encourages everyone else to do the same.
Our federation

Two schools, one shared vision

Ynysddu and Cwmfelinfach Primary Schools formally federated on 1 September 2019, sharing a headteacher and a governing body while each school keeps its own identity.
